Course Description: In this course will develop an advanced form of Faith Therapy based on the covenants of God as they relate to the New Covenant concealed in the Old Covenant--the laws, the tabernacle, the sacrifices, the feasts, the priest’s garments--and the New Covenant revealed in Jesus Christ as they relate to and are applied in counseling.

IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THIS COURSE YOU MUST MEET THESE COURSE REQUIREMENTS

 

1. Read and underline important passages and insights in the three textbooks.

 

2. Watch each video while referencing the books and take any additional notes not covered in the textbook. Prepare for the open book final examination.

 

3. Write a 5 page paper discussing the place of law, grace, the Holy Spirit, and natural consequences in the New Covenant. Do additional research on the subject with at least three references other than the Bible.

 

4. Write a 3 page paper on how you will integrate the concept of the covenants and unmerited favor into your counseling. Do additional research on the subject with at least three references other than the Bible.

 

5. For graduate credit, students are required to write an additional seven page paper discussing how you will integrate place of law, grace, the Holy Spirit, and natural consequences into the transformation process of your clients. Where is the application of each most applicable? Use Bible verses to defend your position. Cite at least three additional references.

 

6. Take the open book test that will be E-mailed to you when have completed the papers. You may use your notes, book, or the videos for reference.

 

7. Submit your papers and final examination to Word of Life Institute for gradingvia E-mail at treiner@wolm.org .

Lesson 1: Introduction to Covenants – Presents a overview of the covenants of God and their importance in understanding Christianity and God's purpose in the world.

Lesson 2: The Old Covenant and the Laws (Scarlet Thread Chp. 1-3) – Explains the Old Covenant the the purpose and place of the law in the life of a Christian.

Lesson 3: The Tabernacle (Scarlet Thread Chp. 4) – Describes the construction, details and furniture of the Tabernacle of Moses and its typology as it applies to Old and New Covenant Christianity.

Lesson 4: The Laws and the Sacrifices (Scarlet Thread Chp. 5) – Explains the typology of the Old Covenant Laws and the five sacrifices as they apply to New Covenant Christianity.

Lesson 5: The Priest and His Garments (Scarlet Thread Chp. 6) – Describes how the priesthood and the typology of the priest's garments apply to New Covenant Christianity.

Lesson 6: The Passover Feasts (Scarlet Thread Chp. 7, Feasts Chp 1-4) - Explains the topology of the Feasts of the Passover, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits related to New Covenant Counseling to

Lesson 7: The Feast of Pentecost (Feasts Chp 5, Reign Chp. 1-7) - Describes the topology of the Feast of Pentecost and how it relates to law and achieving power of God in the life of the client.

Lesson 8: The Feasts of Tabernacles (Feasts Chp 6-8, Reign Chp. 8-15)- Explains the topology of the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles in achieving the rest of God.

Lesson 9: The New Covenant Revealed (Feasts 9-11, Reign Chp. 16-18) - Sums up and gives an in-depth understanding of the New Covenant, all that Christ has already accomplished for us, and how to manifest His love in our lives.

Lesson 10: Unmerited Favor and New Covenant Counseling (Reign Ch 19-22) - Applies all that has been taught so far in the course as counseling models and methods at the appropriate place of spiritual
